JC Code & Construction Consultants, Inc. provides plan review and inspection services to developers, contractors, architects and engineers. Our staff of state licensed code officials, plans examiners and inspectors have experience in both the public and private sectors. We are building code experts and are also familiar with the requirements that are unique to each permitting agency.

Plan Review

In the development and construction business, time IS money. Obtaining the required governmental approvals is difficult enough without incurring unnecessary delays. Most designers have a good working knowledge of the building codes, but few can claim to be experts. Having the construction drawings rejected by the building department because they are not code compliant is an unnecessary delay. JC Code & Construction Consultants can save you valuable time ($MONEY$) by performing a complete "soup to nuts" code compliance plan review of your residential or commercial project PRIOR to submittal to the local building department. Your drawings will be reviewed by licensed, experienced plans examiners and will include:

Architectural drawings including Accessibility Code & Fair Housing requirements Component & Cladding product approval Egress Energy Code compliance Fire resistant construction Structural drawings including Truss layout Truss engineering Mechanical drawings including Manual J HVAC system sizing calculations Manual N HVAC system sizing calculations Electrical drawings Plumbing drawings

A written critique is provided outlining the required corrections with the relevant code sections referenced. We work with the designer of record to ensure that the corrections are accurate. We are also available to meet with building department personnel to discuss any concerns or questions they may have. Drawings that are reviewed and approved by JC Code & Construction Consultants, Inc. are usually approved on the first review.

Inspections

JC Code & Construction Consultants, Inc also offers residential and commercial building code, electrical, mechanical and plumbing inspection services. Our staff of licensed code inspectors have many years of field experience. Municipal inspectors perform a vital service to the development and construction industries. Municipal inspectors verify that the work performed meets the minimum standards set by the applicable building, mechanical, electrical and plumbing code. They do not inspect for quality of materials or workmanship. Our quality control inspections will provide you with the assurance that your product meets or exceeds the minimum standards required under the applicable codes but also meets or exceeds accepted industry standards for materials and workmanship and the standards required by the construction documents.
